Dada-Dadi ke nuskhe

Dada-dadi ke nuskhe is an interactive installation to collect and gather the cultural and traditional advices, tips, tricks, and other ethnic values which our grandparents speak about and archive them so that the future generations can read them. It is a way of preserving memories. Grandparents are called ‘Dada-dadi’  in Hindi and ‘nuskhe’ is a Hindi word meaning effective remedies or tips.
We made artificial flowers which would start to breathe as soon as some one inserted a nuskha into it.
We asked the user to write a nuskha on a piece of paper, roll it up and insert it into the stamen of the artificial flower. The note would act as a switch and a series of LEDs start to glow.  We programmed the LEDs through an Arduino board to replicate human breathing.
The aim was to achieve the experience of giving life to the flower through the memories and the sayings of our grandparents whom we cherish.
